Vote for Kyra Harris Bolden
The recent drama highlighted by the attempt of the Trump GOP here in Michigan to preclude a ballot proposal with the most voter initiative signatures ever in our state shows the importance of having fair, honest, and concerned Jurists elected to our Supreme Court and appellate courts here in our state.
The Michigan Supreme Court - by a vote of 5-2 - ordered the abortion petition issue to be included on the Michigan midterm election ballot just this week after two GOP-appointed Board of Canvassers voted to preclude that ballot initiative from going forward to be on the ballot because of some arcane issue about the spacing between words on some of the petitions that were printed and submitted to the Michigan Secretary of State's election division staff.
Both of the votes to preclude the ballot initiative from going forward came from Michigan Supreme Court justices who in years past were nominated for their offices by GOP party officials. One of the two was Bryan Zahra who is a very conservative justice and is up for reelection this year after serving one full term of reactionary decisions and votes that made the "Party of No" very happy...
I urge my friends and Michigan voters everywhere to take this opportunity to vote Zahra out of the office and to replace him with the Democrat-nominated candidate for Michigan Supreme Court - Kyra Harris Bolden.
