It's still a long way until the 2024 elections, but now would be a good time to start talking about funding candidates for every race in the county. I was a little disappointed last time (2020), as although I have lived in "red" communities before, I was hoping for more candidates and could vote for up and down the ballot.
County wide races need good candidates. Local races need hood candidates. If you've ever thought about running for something, now is a great time to learn what the actual positions do, go to some meetings to get a flavor of what the issues are, or to see who your current elected officials are. Visit a County Commission meeting, or a township board. Start thinking where YOU might be good.
I'd like to put together something later this summer for a candidate basic training workshop. A few hours on a Saturday afternoon, maybe. Who would be the right people to talk about helping out together sone candidate recruiting programming?
