Kimberly Ann Thomas is a clinical professor and director of the Juvenile Justice Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School, where she educates the next generation of lawyers and serves low-income Michiganders. Thomas worked to improve our court system through her service on the Michigan Task Force on Juvenile Justice Reform.
Thomas has been recognized with the U.S. Fulbright award and has been a legal education expert for the Rule of Law Initiative of the American Bar Association. She’s a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard Law School and the University of Maryland at College Park. After law school, she clerked for the Hon. R. Guy Cole of the US Court of Appeals Sixth Circuit and began her career as a public defense attorney.
Thomas is a mom of two Ann Arbor Public School students; a middle schooler and a high schooler, and is engaged in her community as a volunteer school Science Olympiad coach.
